Life Membership is an award that recognises the outstanding contribution of a person who has been a member of the Barwon disAbility Resource Council for a number of years and/or has served on the Board for a number of years and has contributed significantly through involvement in the work of the Barwon disAbility Resource Council.

Colin started his association with BDRC right back in 1976 on the sub-committee for the development of a local community residential facility  - as an alternative to institutions for people with intellectual disabilities.

 1985-86 Colin James was Chairperson

 1987 – Colin worked on Employ Ability Project and was Secretary/Employment Assistant.

 1988 – BDRC Member, Chairperson, Sub-Committee Member – Access

 1989 – Employ Ability Project – Management Committee Member

 1990 - 1991 – Barwon Accommodation Project – Committee Member

 1992 - Executive Committee

 2000 – 2001 – Executive Committee

 2001 – 2002 – Executive Committee – Deputy Chairperson

Colin’s commitment continued with promoting the organisation, serving on countless committees and representing the organisation as Deputy Chair right through to 2002.

Unfortunately for BDRC, Colin moved away from Geelong but has never been forgotten.
